In the land of the Impressionists
Born in 2012 from the passion of Laurent, an airline pilot, for hot air ballooning and his encounter with the Vexin Regional Natural Park, Montgolfière du Vexin offers you the chance to experience a unique and privileged moment in a magical setting.
Less than an hour from Paris, fly over the meanders of the Seine from Giverny to Vétheuil via La Roche-Guyon or the Epte Valley, as the wind takes you. The birthplace of the Impressionist artists, you will take in the magnificent local landscapes and architectural treasures of the Vexin in the light of sunrise or sunset in the summer and even more surprising in autumn and winter.

Frequently Asked Questions
The advantage of flying in a hot air balloon, unlike other means of air transport, is that you can fly at a height of one metre and skim the treetops or riverbeds, or at an altitude of over 1000 metres to have an overall view of the landscapes! Flights ultimately depend as much on the weather conditions of the moment as on the passengers’ desires and their courage!
We fly all year round. All seasons are beautiful to see from above.
The flight lasts about an hour on average regardless of the region. The entire service can last three full hours, including the inflation maneuvers, the pure aerial part, the “toast of the balloonists” on landing – very important! – and the return with the ground team, more or less long depending on the distance covered in flight.
Pretty much the same as on the ground! Since the balloon flies in the wind, there is no draft on board the basket. Not to mention the heat given off by the burners… But you should plan to bring a jacket or sweater to wear when preparing the balloon or after landing.
A fantastic, colorful and hilly landscape. Not to mention that each flight is unique since you can’t steer a hot air balloon…the wind chooses to make you discover the beauty of nature!
No, since the balloon is not attached to the ground (like a bridge or a ladder for example…), the phenomenon of vertigo does not exist! During the flight, the basket is very stable and there is no swinging. You feel very comfortable from the moment you take off.
If it is a love problem, nothing beats a hot air balloon ride to feel as happy as a bird in flight… You just need to be healthy and flexible enough to climb into the basket and hold the squatting position for landing. If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to consult a doctor.
Because the wind speed – which is not necessarily the same on the ground as in the air – does not always allow us to do so. At wind speeds of more than 20 km/h, we are forced, for safety reasons, to cancel flights.
Since the hot air balloon moves with the winds, the pilot only controls the altitude of the balloon by heating the inside of the envelope more or less with the burners. It needs good air stability, an outside temperature that is not too high, as well as light winds. The only way to meet all these conditions is to take off one hour after sunrise or two hours before sunset. But luckily, dawn and dusk are two very beautiful times of the day!
The pilot chooses the take-off site based on the wind direction (to avoid flying over too much forest, for example… and to make the flight as interesting as possible). As a general rule, the take-off site is within a radius of less than half an hour from the meeting point.
No, all passengers stand for the entire flight, and crouch for landing.
We have a gondola for 6 passengers.
